Hon Brian Mason, Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood


Father today we bring our Minister of Transportation and Government House Leader Brian Mason before Your throne of grace and ask that You give Brian great wisdom and council as he holds these important roles in our government.  Lord guide and direct Brian as he serves his constituents in Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood by Your Spirit.  We thank You Lord for Brian's past civic government experience that has helped to equip for our provincial government.  Lord watch over Brian and his wife Karin and keep them in Your care.  In Jesus' name. Amen.


Brian Mason currently serves as Minister of Transportation and as Government House Leader. He previously served as Minister of Infrastructure. He was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood in a 2000 by-election, and is the longest serving Member of the 29th Legislature. Mr. Mason served as leader of the New Democrats from September 18, 2004, to October 18, 2014. Before his election to the Alberta Legislature, Mr. Mason served as city of Edmonton councillor for ward 3. He was first elected in October 1989 and won three subsequent civic elections. As a member of city council for 11 years Mr. Mason gained a reputation as a tough and effective voice for his constituents. Following his political science studies at the University of Alberta he became politically active, serving as the executive director of the Alberta Federation of Students from 1977 to 1979. Mr. Mason has lived in Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood for over 20 years with his wife, Karin.

Hon Brian Malkinson, Calgary-Currie


Lord, thank you for the Honorable Brian Malkinson. As Minister of Service for Alberta he has several roles across a variety of committees, and I pray that you would grant him wisdom and reason in these areas. Help him to make wise decisions that will be to the benefit of our province. I also pray for Brian personally, that he would be lifted up and feel your peace and joy in his life. In Jesus name, amen. 

Brian Malkinson was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta as the Member for the constituency of Calgary-Currie on May 5, 2015. He was sworn in as Minister of Service Alberta on June 18, 2018. Mr. Malkinson is originally from British Columbia. He obtained a degree in science from Simon Fraser University, where he was, for a time, the president of the Interactive Arts and Technology Student Union. He is employed in the heavy-equipment industry as a salesman at a heavy-duty engine supplier since making a career change from working as a designer/analyst for Internet start-ups. Mr. Malkinson currently resides in Calgary, where he enjoys car restoration, music, art and recreational sports.

MLA Robyn Luff, Calgary-East


Dear Jesus we thank you for Robyn Luff representing Calgary East in our legislature.  Lord give her an extra measure of Your grace and strength as she serves without the support of a political party.  We thank You for her willingness to serve on the Standing Committees of Public Accounts, Families and Communities and the Special Standing Committee on Members' Services.  We pray that her past experience as an educator will help her to be a strong voice for the needs of those she represents in our legislature.  In Your name we pray.  Amen.

Robyn Luff was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-East on May 5, 2015.  Prior to her election Ms. Luff was a teacher with the Calgary board of education. Ms. Luff earned a bachelor of science with a major in biology from the University of Victoria and a bachelor of education (master of teaching) from the University of Calgary. She also took part in Next Up, a progressive leadership program for university alumni from all across Canada. Ms. Luff was an active member of the Alberta Teachers' Association and has also volunteered as an educator for a number of nature conservation organizations in Calgary.
