Dear Lord, thank
you for Scott. I pray that you would bless him and his family. I pray that you
would guide him in his final months as he has announced his upcoming
retirement. I pray that you would give him confidence and peace and he moves
away from public life but also purpose and strength to finish strong as a MLA
of Bonnyville-Cold Lake. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
Scott Cyr was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Bonnyville-Cold Lake, on May 5, 2015.
He currently serves as chair of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. Mr. Cyr also serves as a member of the Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and the Select Special Auditor General Search Committee. Mr. Cyr worked as an accountant for 14 years. Previous to his career in accounting he was a field operator in the oil and gas industry.
His educational background includes a management degree with a double major in accounting and finance, which he obtained from the University of Lethbridge in 1999. In 2003 he acquired his class 4 power engineering certificate from the Alberta Boilers Safety Association and his registered public accountant designation from the Registered Public Accountants Association.
Mr. Cyr along with his family — wife, Megan, and two children, Amelia and Charlotte — reside in Cold Lake where he enjoys reading, gardening, fishing and working on various projects around the home.
