Hon David Eggen, Edmonton - Calder

Father we bring before You today our Minister of Education and Minister of Culture and Tourism David Eggen.  Lord give David great insight and wisdom as he makes policies addressing the needs of our young people through the educational system.  Help him Lord to realize the importance of the decisions he makes in this vital portfolio in our government. God thank you for his faithful service to his constituents in Edmonton-Calder and to our province.  In Jesus' name.  Amen. 

 

David Eggen was sworn in as the Minister of Education and as the Minister of Culture and Tourism on May 24, 2015.

Mr. Eggen was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton-Calder on April 23, 2012 and again on May 5, 2015. He previously represented the constituency from 2004 to 2008 and served as the ND's critic for energy, education, environment and sustainable resource development.

MLA Wayne Drysdale, Grande Prarie-Wapati

Lord we bring before You today Wayne Drysdale representing Grande Prairie-Wapiti in our legislature.  Grant him great wisdom and knowledge as he serves as Deputy Chair on the Resource Stewardship Standing Committee and participates on the Standing Committee on Private Bills.  Thank you for his previous municipal government experience that has prepared him well to sit in our legislature.  Bless him, his wife Sherry, his daughter Jodie and his two grandchildren.  In Your precious name we pray.  Amen.

Wayne Drysdale was elected to his third term as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Grande Prairie-Wapiti on May 5, 2015. Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Mr. Drysdale spent 15 years as councilor for the municipal district of Greenview and served as chair of both the Agricultural Service Board and the Municipal Planning Commission.  Mr. Drysdale and his wife, Sherry, live on the family farm in the Grande Prairie area. Their daughter, Jodie, along with her husband, Don, and daughters Tory and Sydney also live in the region. In 2001, following the tragic death of their son, Troy, the family established a bursary for local students pursuing a career in emergency services, fire or EMS in Northern Alberta. To date the bursary has helped fill 49 emergency response positions in the region.

MLA Deborah Drever, Calgary-Bow

Father we bring to you MLA Deborah Drever who is willing to serve on the Standing Committee on Private Bills, the Standing Committee on Families and Communities and the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices. I ask you to give her a continual passion and divine understanding of all the committees that she is a part of. That wisdom would increase as she serves Alberta and she sees what is best for this province.

Deborah Drever was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta as the Member for the constituency of Calgary-Bow on May 5, 2015.  Born and raised in Calgary, Drever is enrolled at Mount Royal University, working towards a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. Drever enjoys advocating for social justice and experiencing Calgary's vibrant arts community. Hobbies include hiking, skiing, travelling and learning new languages.

MLA Devin Dreeshan, Innisfail-Sylvan Lake

Devin Dreeshen is a recently elected MLA in Alberta and we remember him today Lord.  He has many new tasks before him and needs wisdom and insight as to how to find a new rhythm in his days. Thank you for the opportunity he has been given to serve in a new capacity - bless him today in all he does, amen.

Devin Dreeshen is a fifth-generation local farm owner, volunteer, and long-time conservative party activist. Devin was a policy advisor to Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz from 2008 to 2015.

He first got involved in politics volunteering locally at the provincial level and attending policy conferences in the mid nineties. He has worked closely with both provincial and federal conservative parties and has volunteered on many different local campaigns. In 2005, he attended the founding convention of the Conservative Party of Canada as a delegate from the Red Deer Riding supporting nationwide conservative unity. In 2016, he was proud to be a part of Jason Kenney's united conservative vision for Alberta.

Dreeshen is a farmer near Pine Lake, He is the son of Canadian MP, Earl Dreeshen.
