Mrs. Kim Schreiner - MLA for Red Deer-North

We pray that You will give her discernment, strength and wisdom to be the voice of the people in her constituency.  Grant her favor with the many people she represents and give her a clear vision for how to make a positive difference for those who genuinely need her help.  May she walk everyday in a place of Your blessing.  May Your wisdom guide her so that she may accomplish even more for our province.  Grant her safety in her travels.  Amen.  

Kim Schreiner was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Red Deer-North, on May 5, 2015.

She currently serves as deputy chair of the Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and as a member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services and the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future. She previously served on the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship.

Prior to her serving with the Legislative Assembly, she worked as a health care aide, beginning in 2007. Over the course of her career she has worked with Valley Park Manor, Covenant Care and Extendicare.

She was also the steward and occupational health and safety representative for the local Alberta Union of Provincial Employees. As well, she has done work with resident advisory and family councils.

A mother of two, she is also an active school volunteer and a member of parent council.

Mrs. Schreiner received her health care aide certification from NorQuest College. She also studied hairdressing at NAIT between 1981 and 1982.


Born in Abitibi, Quebec, she has called Red Deer home for over 30 years.

Mr. David A. Schneider - MLA for Little Bow

Father, we lift up Mr. David Schneider to You as we ask that You would be with him and guide him as he represents the people as MLA for Little Bow.  We recognize the work he’s done in the past and are thankful for the tireless work that he has been doing with colleagues to see that Alberta becomes strong and progressive.  Grant him wisdom and insight into the issues he faces each day, Amen.

David Schneider was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Little Bow on May 5, 2015.

He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Alberta's Economic Future and as a member of the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing.

He previously served as deputy chair of the Standing Committee on Alberta's Economic Future.

For over 20 years Mr. Schneider has owned and operated Schneider Farm & Ranch Inc., located south of Vulcan. He has been a long-time secretary and treasurer of the Badland Hills Cattle Grazing Association in Taber and director of the Vulcan Seed Cleaning Association.

Mr. Schneider has also served as councillor and reeve for Vulcan County.

He and his wife, Sharon, reside on a farm south of Vulcan. Their daughter, Kristin, took her secondary education in Lethbridge and she is an office manager in the city.

Honourable Marlin Schmidt - MLA for Edmonton-Gold Bar

Father God, thank You for Honourable Mr. Marlin Schmidt and the commitment that he has made to the people of his riding in Edmonton – Gold Bar.  Lord, we pray that You would give him new vision and new strategies to help him accomplish much for his constituents and the province of Alberta.  As he looks into the issues that come before him, we pray that You would bring clarity and understanding and unique solutions.  Walk with him, give him wisdom and guide his decisions for our Province daily.  Bless him in all that he does for his people.  Cover and protect him as he travels and meets with others.  May his constituency be blessed by his leadership and may Your will Lord be done by the tireless works of our MLA’s across Alberta.  In Your Name, Amen. 



Minister of Advanced Education

Marlin Schmidt was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, on May 5, 2015. He represents the constituency of Edmonton-Gold Bar. Since February 2, 2016, Hon. Schmidt has also served as Minister of Advanced Education. Hon. Schmidt sits on three Government committees: the Legislative Review Committee, the Social Policy Committee and the Climate Leadership Policy Committee.

Hon. Schmidt’s background prior to serving in the Legislature was in site remediation and hydrogeology. From 2008 to 2015 he worked for Alberta Environment as a soil and groundwater contamination specialist.


Hon. Schmidt has a master of science degree in applied environmental Geo-sciences (Eberhard Karls Universität in Tübingen, Germany) and a bachelor of science degree (Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario).

Honourable Irfan Sabir - MLA for Calgary-McCall

Father in Heaven we ask You to bless Honourable Mr. Irfan Sabir as he serves in our Premiers’ cabinet as Minister of Human Resources.  We are grateful for the experience he brings to the position he holds and for past achievements.  We pray Lord, that You would direct his thoughts and plans as he works with colleagues and the people of the constituency of busy Calgary – McCall.  Refresh him with new strength as he carries out his role.  Amen.

Minister of Community and Social Services

Irfan Sabir was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-McCall, on May 5, 2015. Since May 24, 2015 he had served as Minister of Human Services, and on January 19, 2017 he was sworn in as Minister of Community and Social Services.

Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, he practised in aboriginal law at a national law firm in Calgary beginning in 2012. Previous to this, he worked as a research assistant with the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary (U of C).

He also worked with the Salvation Army for five years and worked as a real estate agent with the Calgary Real Estate Board between 2006 and 2007.

In addition, Mr. Sabir has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance and Canadian Red Cross.

In addition to holding a juris doctor degree from the U of C, he has a degree in social work from the U of C and a degree in economics from the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan.


Born in Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, he has called Calgary home since 2004.

Mr. Eric Rosendahl - MLA for West Yellowhead

Dear Lord, we are grateful for MLA Mr. Eric Rosendahl as he serves in our legislature.  We pray for his involvement on boards and committees and that he would be directed to make plans so Alberta may continue to grow in strength and towards a promising future.  Bless and refresh him today we pray and may he know he is appreciated.  In Jesus Name, Amen. 

Eric Rosendahl was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of West Yellowhead, on May 5, 2015.

He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Private Bills and as a member of the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship.

Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Rosendahl worked as a steam engineer for 34 years at the West Fraser pulp mill in Hinton and retired. Previous to this, he worked in various capacities within the forestry industry and our parks system. Most recently he worked with the town of Hinton and Grande Yellowhead School Division #77 as a bus driver from 2010 to 2015.

An avid volunteer and community advocate, he has served as president of a number of councils and boards, including the Yellowhead District Labour Council, Hinton Fish and Game Association, Hinton Search and Rescue and the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors Association.

In addition, he has also served on the public advisory committee and on the forest resources advisory group for the executive and served on the executive of Unifor 855. He was a member of council and served many years on the environment committee for the Alberta Federation of Labour.

He holds a diploma in renewable resources and wildlife management technology.

Together with his wife, Linda Lee, he resides in Hinton.

Mr. Dave Rodney - MLA for Calgary-Lougheed

Ms. Marie Renaud - MLA for St. Albert

Father God, it is our prayer today for MLA Ms. Marie Renaud as she serves in the constituency of St. Albert and in our legislature.  May You grant her a measure of wisdom and the insight she needs as she puts plans in motion for our province.  May she also feel appreciated and know how important her role is.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Marie Renaud was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of St. Albert, on May 5, 2015.

She currently serves as a member of the Standing Committees on Public Accounts. Previously she served as a member of the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and the Select Special Ethics and Accountability Committee.

Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Ms. Renaud worked for almost 15 years as the executive director of Lo-Se-Ca Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides residential and day supports to adults with developmental disabilities. Prior to this, she spent two years at the Women's Economic and Business Solutions Society and seven years as an instructor at MacEwan University.

She also devoted her time to various boards and committees. Besides serving as board chair for the Handicapped Housing Society of Alberta, she was a member of the board for the Alberta Avenue Business Revitalization Zone and the Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre. In addition, Ms. Renaud served on various committees, including the Rehabilitation Practitioner Advisory Committee for MacEwan University and the St. Albert Accessible Transportation Advisory Committee. She also previously worked with the Edmonton Council of Service Providers.

Ms. Renaud holds a university certificate in counselling women from the women's and gender studies department at the University of Alberta and a diploma in community disability studies from MacEwan University.


She was named one of Edmonton's top 100 women in business by the University of Alberta's Wanderer magazine in 2014, and she received a Prime Minister's volunteer award for social innovation in the prairies region in 2012.
