MLA Debbie Jabbour, Peace River


Father we left up MLA Debbie Jabbour to you today and we ask that you give her wisdom as she fulfils her duties as Deputy Speaker,  as chair of Committee Members of the Special Standing Committee on Member’s Services. Also  be with her as she carries out her responsibilities as chair of the Ministerial Panel on Child Intervention  – chair of the Northern  Alberta Development Council. May she continue to volunteer in her community. Bless MLA Debbie Jabbour, her children and her grandchildren. Bless all of Alberta and all Albertans in Jesus name, Amen.

Debbie Jabbour was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Peace River, on May 5, 2015. She is the first woman to serve as Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees.
She currently serves as a member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services. She previously served as a member of the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices.
Ms. Jabbour also serves as chair of the Ministerial Panel on Child Intervention since February 2017 and as chair of the Northern Alberta Development Council.
Prior to serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, she worked as a provisional psychologist with Alberta Health Services. Prior to that, she worked as an analyst with Alberta Health and as a Hansard input editor with the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. Her previous work has included administrative roles, freelance writing and performing as a professional musician.
She received her master of counselling in 2010 from the University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge and Athabasca University. In 2003 she received her bachelor of arts with a major in psychology and communications. She also holds a certificate in career counselling.
Born in Edmonton, Ms. Jabbour currently resides in High Level. Her grandparents on both sides came to Canada in the early 1900s. With the exception of two years in Central America Ms. Jabbour has called Alberta home her entire life.
In her spare time Ms. Jabbour volunteers in her community with the Chinchaga Adult Learning Centre and as an actor with the High Level Theatre Troupe.
Ms. Jabbour enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is also interested in theatre, music, travel, reading and research.
