MLA Linda Johnson, Calgary-Glenmore


Lord, we thank you for the strength that you have provided MLA Linda Johnson and the character she demonstrates making complex decision in her everyday work. We ask that you would continue to strengthen her for the tasks ahead and the decisions she makes that will affect the people of this province We pray, Amen.

Linda Johnson was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Glenmore on April 23, 2012. She was appointed deputy chair of the Standing Committee on Private Bills on May 24, 2012 and also serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship and the Select Special Conflicts of Interest Act Review Committee.

Previously she has served as a member on the following committees:

  • Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing
  • Standing Committee on Families and Communities

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ms. Johnson attended Saint Mary’s University, where she received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1979.

Ms. Johnson has extensive experience in business environments, having worked in oil and gas, direct marketing and the automotive industry. During high school, she became involved in politics and was a volunteer in successful provincial and federal campaigns. From 2007 until 2010 Ms. Johnson was the Southern Alberta Field Director for the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta. During this tenure she worked with MLAs and volunteers across Calgary and southern Alberta and enhanced her knowledge of party operations and government.

A proud and active member of her church and community, Ms. Johnson continues to provide support whenever possible.

Ms. Johnson, her husband, Al and their three children have lived in southwest Calgary since 1986.
